Happy New Year babes! So sorry for being on hiatus from the blog, but a holiday vacay was much needed! I spent my NYE in Cabo San Lucas and I had a grand time. If you tuned into my Instagram, I managed to post a few photos from my trip. Otherwise, I was very much away from social media during the week I was there. I spent my week sunbathing, taking in the sights, and reflecting with great friends.
Now that I’m back, it’s back to reality I go! I’m ready to start 2017 with an open mind and a hopeful heart. And what better way to jump start the year than with a list of goals and resolutions!? I know, I know–pretty typical right? But having a game plan helps me stay motivated and excited for the events to come.
But before I go into my 2017 resolutions I want to share some details about this awesome ‘Lit’ tee that I’m rocking. This t-shirt is from Chloe’s Cravings, a t-shirt line based out of Chicago. They make super soft boyfriend tees with quirky sayings that pays ode to vino–perfect for wine enthusiasts. Chloe’s Cravings also made me their Blogger Of The Month! I was so flattered that they chose lil’ ole me! Click here to check out the rest of their shirts.
My 2017 Resolutions
— Eat healthier — Those who know me well know that I am a pizza slut and a “snore” (snack + whore = snore). It’s hard for me to say no to a slice of pizza (or a hamburger…or a chicken wing). Towards the end of 2016 I noticed that my eating habits was taking a toll on me. Everything that I ate would cause me to be uncomfortably bloated! I knew my body needed a detox.
Earlier this week I did a one-day juice cleanse with Pressed Juicery and started omitting carbs and dairy from my diet. So far I feel fantastic! I really hope that I can maintain this healthy diet and incorporate a consistent fitness routine in the near future.
— Save Money — I know it sounds impossible with all the trips that I have planned for this year. But I believe if I scrimp and save in the right places, I can make it happen. My ultimate goal is save enough money to purchase a house within the next five years.
My 2017 Plans
— Travel the world! — As I mentioned above, I have several trips planned for 2017. I’m starting off the year with a 10 day trip to Thailand. I’ll be spending four days in Bangkok and four days in Phuket. I haven’t traveled to either places, so I’m very excited!
Other trips I have planned for this year is Austin, Chicago, Wisconsin, Spain and Paris! If all goes well, I hope to spend NYE ’18 in Paris with my girlfriends. I’ve spent the last two NYE in a different country and I hope to keep the ball rolling!
— Expand my blog — I want to make my blog bigger and better with every year! I’m in the process of creating a new blog layout with new features and I hope to launch it very soon. Stay tuned for that!
What I’m Most Excited For in 2017
— My Girlfriend’s Wedding — One of my closest girlfriends, who got engaged to her boyfriend of 5 years, asked me to be her bridesmaid! I’m so honored that she asked me to be apart of her wedding. I’m looking forward to dress fittings, wedding planning, and, most importantly, bachelorette party planning! Yeeeoooww!
— Walt Disney’s Beauty and Beast — What you may not know about me is that I am a huge fan of Walt Disney. Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite Disney movie, so you can only imagine how stoked I am to see the real action motion picture. I predict that this movie is going to be epic. The cast, the effects, the music…you can definitely expect me at the midnight showing.
What I Hope For in 2017
— New Friendships — I love making new friends and I am so grateful for the ones that I have thus far. I only hope to meet many more amazing people and create long lasting friendships.
— Love — I’ve been single for almost two years now. Being in a relationship hasn’t been a priority for me. But as I approach age 30, I think it’s time to be more open to having a relationship. Hopefully, I’ll meet someone special that is worth settling down with. I have my fingers crossed!
So there it is guys, my 2017 resolutions. I hope you’re just as excited and hopeful for 2017 as I am! Always stay positive and don’t lose sight of your goals. I’m be right there with you!
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you’ve imagined.”
