In contrast to our Part I look, Thomas and I went to for a sultry, dark look for our second outfits. By the way, if you haven’t seen our first look, you can check it out here.
These darker outfits are suitable for a holiday party, New Year’s Eve, or even a date night if you and your man are going somewhere upscale. Again, I went with a mermaid silhouette–a form fitting dress with a fishtail train. I’m a petite, curvy woman who enjoys showing off her curves. If you got ’em, embrace ’em. Never be ashamed of those feminine lines! Wearing a dress with a mermaid silhouette will accentuate those feminine lines.
I found this gorgeous lace dress at Lexe, a San Francisco boutique located on Pine and Fillmore. If you’re in Lower Pacific Heights, I highly suggest checking them out! The boutique has a wide selection of clothing from casual wear to evening wear. Right now, they’re stocking up on holiday dresses and the options are amazing! If you can’t make it out to Lexe, I’ve linked similar laced gowns at the bottom.
I love how this dress uses torchon and chantilly lace. It’s different from the floral knit lace that I see so often. Besides the lace detail, I’m enjoying the scalloped detail along the sides of the upper half of the dress. And the low back is just the cherry on top. Nothing makes me feel sexier than baring my shoulders and my back.
As for Thomas, he went with a more relaxed look. He went sans tie and wore a dark grey suit with a peacoat. The saying “less is more” can be applied to men’s clothing. Choose a simple color scheme, stick to the color palette when it comes to the jacket and slacks, and rock a button up with the top buttons undone. So sexy!
