Many of you guys may not know this but I am blind as a bat. I have horrible eyesight. So having plenty of contact lenses and a pair of eyeglasses is very important to me. Although I wear contact lenses a majority of the time, I do love rocking a pair of fun frames. Just like a statement necklace or a pair of new earrings, a pair of frames is an opportunity to share your sense of style. It also changes your style persona. Get a pair of classic rectangle frames to have a professional look, or opt for wayfarers for an edgy, hipster look.
JINS Eyewear makes getting affordable prescription eyeglasses and/or sunglasses very easy. On the website, they have frames categorized based on face shape. From there, you can filter by material, width and so forth. The lens crafted in each eyeglasses have anti-glare and UV protective coating. If you need frames right away, you can visit one of their locations (they just opened a location in Valley Fair in San Jose!) and have a new pair in 30 minutes!
The eyeglasses that I chose from JINS were round metal thin-framed eyeglasses, which you can get here. What drew me to these frames were the shape. These vintage style frames made notable in the 80s is coming back into the scene and is taking on a modern twist. You can see celebs such as Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski rocking similar round frames. You can choose from different colors schemes such as tortoise and sky blue.
I think the key to finding the perfect set of frames is finding one that will compliment your face shape. Below I’ve picked out my favorite frames from JINS based on face shape:
– Square Face – Faces with a broad forehead and square chin should opt for narrow wide frames that will soften the angles of the face. Oval or round frames will do just that.
– Oval Face – Because of the balance throughout the face, there is more freedom in frame selection. Just be sure to choose a frame that is as wide or wider than the widest portion of the face to maintain balance.
– Heart Face – Choose frames that are wide on the top and narrow on the bottom, just like the face. Detailing on the bottom of the frame will draw attention away from your wide forehead.
– Round Face – To soften your round face, opt for the frames with strong angles, such has rectangular frames or wayfarers.
– Triangle Face – Faces with a narrow forehead and wide chin should opt for frames that are wider than the jawline to maintain balance. Go with frames with detailing on the upper portion of the frame, like cat eye frames.
