This summer I wanted to round my girls up for a quick weekend getaway. Since it revolved around my birthday, I knew I wanted to escape to somewhere glamorous. The first thing that came to mind was Beverly Hills, home to the rich and famous. Beverly Hills has everything for a luxe getaway: upscale hotels, designer stores, spas, and posh restaurants.
Beverly Hills is a city in Los Angeles County. It’s an easy 20 minute drive from Los Angeles International Airport. Since most leisure activities revolve around food and shopping, it’s easy to get the most out of Beverly Hills in 78 hours. Below I’ve listed activities that you must do when visiting Beverly Hills.
Where To Stay
During my trip, I stayed at Mr.C Beverly Hills. Mr.C is a sophisticated hotel with European flare. As soon as my Lyft driver drove into the driveway, I saw a row of Roll Royces lined up in the front. From there I knew I was in for a luxurious getaway.
Upon check in, we were greeted with Bellinis and coffee. As looked around the hotel, I realized this hotel oozes class. There’s Chesterfield couches, chandeliers and a grand piano in the lobby. As for our premium room, our beds had leather tufted headboards, modern amenities, and balcony overlooking Beverly Hills.
Other places to consider for accommodations are Avalon, Viceroy L’Ermitage, SIXTY, and Kimpton La Peer.
Where To Eat/Drink
When in Los Angeles, you have to dine at a rooftop bar. So for lunch we headed to Above Sixty, a rooftop restaurant located in SIXTY Beverly Hills. It’s situated next to their rooftop pool, so if you feel like mingling in a swimsuit, this is the place to do it.
Other rooftop restaurants you can check out are The Rooftop by JG, Jean-Georges, and The Rooftop Grill.
For dinner we dined at Prospect Gourmand. It had great food for a reasonable price. They have a variety of dishes from pasta to burgers.
For brunch, we went to Gracias Madre, a plant-based Mexican restaurant. I know the sound of vegan Mexican cuisine sounds undetectable, but it’s actually very delicious! I had the enchilada plate which omitted meat and used cashew cheese as a substitute. I thought I would be crazy carne asada afterwards, but I didn’t. It was perfectly filling.
Where To Shop
I think the obvious choice for premiere shopping is the iconic Rodeo Drive. This palm tree filled street is lined with designer shops such as Chanel, Gucci, YSL, and much more. Come here if you’re a high roller or just simply want to window shop. If you’re looking for more affordable shopping, the Beverly Center is a home to department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Macy’s.
So you’re probably wondering why I didn’t mention The Beverly Hills Hotel is this travel guide. The Beverly Hills Hotel was definitely one of my favorites to visit when I’m in Los Angeles. But the property is owned by the Sultan of Brunei, who allows stoning of homosexuals to death in his country. I do not support homophobia, therefore I will no longer be supporting The Beverly Hills Hotel. Learn more about it here.
