Next to hydrangeas, lavender is one of my favorite flowers. I love the scent, color and texture. This summer I was highly motivated to visit a lavender garden. I had high hopes of visiting one in Sonoma but much to my dismay the garden was closed due to the high volume of visitors. Just when I was going to pass up on the idea, I learned about Matanzas Creek Winery’s lavender field on the web. I had to go!
Matanzas Creek Winery is a small winery located in the outskirts of Santa Rosa. Their grounds is home to a tasting room, outdoor patio, gardens and their renown lavender field. The property makes for a very picturesque location. Unfortunately, when I went, the lavenders were at the end of their blooming season, but I was still happy to capture the essence of it. To capture the lavender field at it’s finest, visit the winery during late June when the flowers are at their peak.
This beautiful, ethereal maxi dress is from ASOS. Not only am I in love with the pastel color, I am extremely in lust with the ruffles straps that extends all the way down to the train. I felt like a princess for the day! I’m so glad I got to work with my friend Anny, whom I’ve known for years now and watched grow into a successful photographer.
So glad I got to catch up with her over wine and I can’t wait to go back!
