One of my favorite pastimes is visiting neighborhood farmers’ markets throughout San Francisco. It’s a great opportunity to check out local produce, meet other San Franciscans, and explore a new neighborhood. There’s plenty of markets to check out during the week. San Francisco has 25 farmers’ markets that are open year round. Check out the full list here.
My favorite market is the Ferry Building farmers’ market. But if time doesn’t permit, I’ll go to my neighborhood farmers’ market on Clement Street, which I’m starting to enjoy very much. It takes place between 2nd and 4th avenue and occurs every Sunday from 9am-2pm. You will find an array of vendors ranging from local produce, grass fed beef, baked goods, and fresh-cut flowers. And all are at an affordable price. I grabbed a bouquet of sunflowers for $5!
If you want to check out the Clement Farmers’ Market, I suggest grabbing a hot cup of coffee from Cumaica and a pastry from Grain D’Or before checking out the farmers’ market.
The shops along Clement Street are definitely worth checking out as well. One of which is William the BeeKeeper which is located between 1st and 2nd Avenue. It’s a conscientious boutique that sells sustainable products ranging from clothing, jewelry, art, home goods, and, of course, HONEY! Not only are they dedicated to bringing you high quality products, but they are also dedicated to giving back. A portion of the sales goes back to the community.
My favorite merchandise to check out was the selection of sustainable clothing that was designed by local designers. My favorite find was this navy braided jacket that I wore to the farmers’ market. It doubles as a jacket and scarf. It’s perfect for these cold summers that San Francisco experiences. I paired it with a messenger bag also from William the Beekeeper. I love the sturdy leather and the southwestern print.
If you’re in the Inner Richmond, I highly recommend checking out their cute shop and tell them Justina sent ya!
