I’m a California girl through and through. The ocean always seems to be calling my name. So it only seemed natural to find another quaint coastal town to explore. Mendocino is one of those coastal gems that is filled with great eats, wineries and lots of outdoor trails. There’s a little something for everyone. Regardless of what brings you to Mendocino, how lovely would it be to wake up to ocean views?! Heritage House Resort has that covered.
Just ten minutes south of Mendocino lies a luxury resort by the name of Heritage House. A friend of mine mentioned that she enjoyed her stay at Heritage House. After scoping out the property online, I was immediately sold. The property has 48 guest rooms; quaint, small and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Each room features a fireplace, state of the art bathroom, and a balcony overlooking the ocean. If you want to get a closer look of the ocean, there is a mini-trail around the edge of the property, along with benches and a gazebo to really take in the views.
You’ll absolutely love checking into this resort. The main building, which houses the check-in lobby, lounges, and dining room, is dressed in ivy and has the most adorable bright red door. Upon walking in, you’ll be impressed by the grandeur decor. You’ll definitely want to spend an evening or two mingling in the lounge area. There’s plenty of plush seating, a fiery fireplace, and a bar that is open until 9pm. There are also dining options available. A breakfast buffet is available every morning for $15. Definitely not a bad option, especially when the dining room and the outdoor patio has a view of the ocean. There’s also a spa next door to fulfill your massage therapy needs.
Overall, I was impressed by the property and the amenities that was offered at Heritage House. The only thing that was disappointing is that room service was only available in the evenings. The girls and I wanted to have breakfast in bed, especially when it was hailing most mornings we were there. We would’ve loved to stay in with some fresh breakfast. Despite this, I would definitely stay at Heritage House again. If you decide to stay there, be sure to go during pleasant weather to thoroughly enjoy the views found all over the property.
