The runway shows, the bloggers, the street style–NYFW is one of those sought after events for all those who are genuine fashionistas. It comes only twice a year and its the prime week to get the first look on whats going to be hot for the upcoming season. Unfortunately, I had to pass up on this past NYFW again (whomp, whomp). So instead I decided to live vicariously through my fellow SF blogger babes who provided footage of shows and events. Of course, NYFW looked amazing and it only supplemented my yearn to attend next year.
My favorite part about NYFW is the street style coverage. Because NYFW occurs in the dead of winter, stylish layers was ruling the concrete runway. I saw shearling, lots of fur, parkas, and puffer jackets. Per Eva Chen, the new trend is wearing a puffer jacket draped off the shoulders and half zipped up. I’m not cool enough to rock that trend yet, but I was definitely inspired by the faux fur. Celebrities that I’m crushing hard on right now are Shay Mitchell and Bella Hadid. And they were rocking the baddest faux fur jackets!
In lieu of NYFW, I wanted to put together a NYFW inspired outfit. Fortunately, SF is warmer than NY during this time of year, so I modified my outfit to adjust to SF weather. I found this amazing patchwork faux fur jacket at Forever21. The jacket is sold out but I linked to several amazing jackets at excellent price points. Shop my look here.
