What I love about living in San Francisco is that I am less than a three hour drive to the most beautiful areas in California. I can explore the redwoods and coastal shore as a day trip, or travel further to the snow or rustic desert for an entire weekend. Because of the ample travel locations that the Golden State has to offer, I try to take every weekend as an opportune time to explore outside the city. This past weekend I took a day trip to Point Reyes National Seashore, a park reserve on a pennisula located a little over an hour north of the Golden Gate.
If you decide to take a trip to Point Reyes, more than likely it will be windy, so be sure to bring a jacket!
My first stop of the day was Point Reyes Station, a small town with a downtown strip with markets and shops. This area is also home to Cowgirl Creamery, the original creamery and cheese shop.
While strolling downtown, I came across The Station House Cafe. I noticed Pork Belly Macaroni and Cheese on the menu and knew I had to try it. So here it is and boy was it delicious!
Right off Sir Francis Blvd in Inverness is the famous Point Reyes Shipwreck.

It was a very foggy day at the Point Reyes Lighthouse.
The skylight hitting the water-so mesmerizing.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. There’s 300+ steps to get back to the top!

I was amazed by the abundance of wildlife present in Point Reyes. If you look closely, there are two deers in the field.
Caught sight of a sealion on the beach below!
This coyote was so fearless. It was steps away from my car!
I had to have some oysters before I left. So I dropped by Saltwater in Inverness, a restaurant and oyster bar.
