Rock A Pantsuit to Your Next Holiday Party!

I’ve always wanted to rock a monochromatic look this season and I finally did it! And what better color to choose than the color red!? It looks so good on all women. It’s bold, sexy and fierce! And it works so well during this time of year because it’s also a festive color.

Something else that I’ve always wanted to do is rock a pantsuit to a holiday party. I’ve always been someone who tried to do something that’s not expected of me and wear something that shows my personality. I’ve always seen myself to be a sassy and confident woman. And I want my outfit to show that!

But I shouldn’t be the only one rocking a pantsuit to a party; I think you should too. And here’s why….
1. It’s unexpected – When you think holiday party the default outfit is a cocktail dress. Step outside of the box and really stand out with something that people don’t expect you to wear. Everyone will respect that you’ve made a daring fashion choice.
2. It can be sexy – To keep from making it look like your basic 9-5 pant suit, add something that makes it fashion forward. For instance, I chose pants that has side slits. And instead of throwing a blouse on, I skipped an undershirt altogether and decided to make the blazer a plunging top. Other alternatives are choosing a pantsuit that’s satin, or has velvet accents. A brocade suit would be extra daring! Or throw on a lace bustier or bralette underneath. Go for a statement stiletto and keep away from basic pumps. Remember, you’re going to a party, NOT work.
3. Look taller with a monochromatic pantsuit – Sticking with one color palette immediately adds inches to the body. Sticking to one color from head to toe creates a vertical image, therefore making you appear taller than you are. And to look leaner, stick to dark colors like navy or black.
4. It hides your food/drink baby – How many times have you restrained yourself at the appetizer table or cocktail bar because you were worried that your dress will come bursting at the seams? NO MORE. A high waisted pant can cover any insecurities that may be having down there. Also, you have that extra coverage with your blazer. Besides, the holidays are for drinking and being merry! So be f*king merry!
