San Francisco is a treasure trove of store fronts, bars and restaurants. Because of this, exploring new neighborhoods and discovering new local gems is my favorite past time. There’s so much character to be found in the city. I definitely have an affinity for businesses that invest in creating a unique ambiance and experience for their customers. With that said, I totally fell in love with a soda shop that I found in Cole Valley.
This soda shop is called Ice Cream Bar. Filled with bar stools, a modern-deco bar, and employees rocking paper diner hats, it’s totally reminiscent of the 1930s. Aside from the decor, the ice cream menu is absolutely killer. How do I know? I tasted every single flavor. Yes people, I am that customer who has a spoonful of each flavor before deciding on my favorite. My friend and I settled on a hot fudge sundae with a scoop of Devill Dog (Vanilla, Devil Food Cake, Marshmallow) and Hazelnut. We were definitely living our best life. Not only do they serve delicious scoops of ice cream, there’s a lunch menu, sodas, shakes, and…wait for it…alcoholic malt shakes! Make sure to check this soda shop out if you’re in Cole Valley.
