Working out. UGH. Right?! I know that feeling.
My love for working out comes in ebb and flow. Sometimes I’m absolutely motivated and I’m taking a studio class four times a week. And some weeks I want to take a break and enjoy a movie on the couch. Finding motivation can be hard. I know this. But there are little tricks I do for myself that helps me stay motivated. For instance, I book my studio classes a day to a few days in advance so I have a schedule that I can stay committed to. Plus, knowing that there is a cancellation fee forces me to show up instead of flaking out. When I finally get my butt through the door and finish my workout, I feel so accomplished. And with the endorphin flowing, I’m at a ultimate high. I feel great. The euphoric feeling gets me hooked and I want to return for more.
When you feel good in the inside, it radiates on the outside. And what better to show your confidence but in a set of new workout clothes. Pheel Clothing makes amazing workout gear that is lightweight, fuses with your body, and has the durability to withstand any workout. I’m currently wearing their High-waisted 50/50 Pant. It’s made with Emana thread which improves body thermo-regulation and prevents muscle fatigue. It fits my body like a glove and I love the mesh panel on the bottom. On the top I’m wearing their Desert Storm Weave bra and Vogue tank. I’m super impressed by the strap design of the bra. And the tank top has perfect ventilation for a sweaty and intense workout.
Aside from booking my classes in advance and rocking new workout clothes, mixing up my exercise regime helps me stay excited about working out. When workout routines become redundant, I get bored and this causes me to get off track. If I’m trying something new every week, I’m challenging my body in new and exciting ways.
To keep the ball rolling on my fitness game, I switch between the following five workouts. It keeps me busy, excited, and challenges my body each and every time. So whenever you feel like you’re in a fitness rut, give the following five a try and you might be inspired to be active again. My best guess is that you will be 😉
1. Basecamp – Basecamp utilizes circuit training between the assault bike and floor workouts. The floor workouts can incorporate different exercises such has weight training, medicine balls, TRX and plyometrics. After your 35 minute workout, you complete the session with a 10 minute core workout. It’s a high intensity workout and challenging, which I LOVE. Basecamp has created a great community and they award your fitness accomplishments with a tank top!
2. Barry’s Bootcamp – This is also another very challenging workout! Just like Basecamp, Barry’s switches between cardio and strength training throughout the workout. But instead of using the assault bike, Barry’s prompts you to do intermittent sprints on the treadmill. I’m not much of a runner, so I find Barry’s to be VERY challenging. But I feel very accomplished after a workout and the trainers are very motivating. I can guarantee that you’ll be sweating.
3. City Dance – What you may not know about me is that I have an extensive background in dance. Hip hop dance to be more specific. Revisiting my dance background with a hip hop class is so much fun. And I get an amazing sweat!
4. Crissy Field – I like to mix up my workout routine with a outdoor workout every once in a while. The ocean breeze, the view of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a workout playlist–all of these combined and you get something that is beyond working out. It’s therapeutic. So the next time you have one of those weeks where you want to demolish your boss, grab your headphones and head to Crissy Field. You’ll feel so much better.
5. Uforia Studios – Uforia offers classes in strength training, dance and cycling. I go for the cycling classes. The playlist and the neon lights they put on gets me so pumped!
