There are so many ways that gingham can be overdone. Wear black gingham and you can look unoriginal. Wear red gingham and you can look like picnic cloth. But yellow gingham….now that’s a pattern I can get with. Yellow gingham is a universal flattering pattern. It looks good on all skin tones. And the color pattern is great for the spring and summer season!
I found this off-the-shoulder halter dress from ASOS, my favorite place to shop for last minute outfits. ASOS has a broad selection in the petite section, and with the premium delivery membership, you can get unlimited two-day shipping for $19 a year. At first I was a little cautious about purchasing this dress. Shift dresses have never flattered my curvy figure. I end up looking like I’m wearing a pillow sheet. But surprisingly, this dress worked really well. It helped that it came in petites, so it was made suitable for my small frame. Because I had a lot of pattern on top, I made the rest of my outfit quite simple. My go-to lately has been my nude strappy Stacey stilettos from Steve Madden. The nude color goes with everything and the heels elongate my legs.
Besides dresses, this classic pattern has taken on several silhouettes. You see it on ruffled blouses, skirts, and bikinis. I love them all! Below I’ve not only linked to where you can purchase this dress, but other of my favorite yellow gingham finds. Most of these items are under 50!
